Let's Keep Our Roads Safe!
We are here to help support safe driving practices in Montezuma, Dolores, and La Plata Counties.
By keeping our roads safe, we can keep our communities safe.
Did you know...
Motor vehicle crashes are one of the biggest causes of death in Colorado?
And we are here to help.
Who We Are
Our mission is to reduce the number of alcohol related activities and increase safe driving in Montezuma County, Dolores County and La Plata County. We accomplish this by providing prosocial activities for youth, a communications campaign that brings community awareness to the harms associated with impaired driving, increasing alternative transportation options and providing education on unrestrained passengers.
Our Programs
One of the biggest things that contributes to impaired driving in our area is the lack of alternative transportation options. This means that it can be hard to find a safe way home if you don't have a sober driver. That is why we partner with The City of Durango and local nonprofits to provide buses, shuttles, and even the DuranGO microtransit service when there are big events to help people get home safely.

Meet Our Partners
Collaboration is at the heart of everything we do. That is why we work with a variety of partners across La Plata County, Montezuma County, and Dolores County. We couldn't make a difference without this wonderful team.
Students Tackling Unhealthy Decisions
Based in Dove Creek, Colorado, Students Tackling Unhealthy Decisions (STUD) works to increase the social emotional capacity of youth. They are a school-based program that focuses on impaired driving prevention and mental health capacity building. STUD is our Dolores County safe driving champion organization.
Montezuma County Public Health Department
We value public/private partnerships. That is why we are working with the Public Health Department in Montezuma County. Through our collaboration, we are able to offer expanded car seat safety services and education. The Health Department also leads an Injury Prevention Coalition with First Responders, Nonprofits, The State Patrol, and Hospital Representatives.
City of Durango
Durango Transit
Durango Transit and SCYC have partnered to bring you the Ride Responsible Program, offering free, safe, and sober transportation after key La Plata County events such as Snowdown and Animas River Days. Our goal is to provide convenient, alternative transportation options that help ensure everyone gets home safely, supporting a healthier and more responsible community.
