Hello, I am Auddie York, the new Teen Maze Coordinator serving School Community Youth Collaborative(SCYC). I am thrilled to be in my position and am looking forward to Teen Maze 2014! I am one of five children, I have been in Cortez for almost ten years now, I actually got to experience Teen Maze when I was in middle school. I personally wanted to go through it again, I had so much fun. I danced to the beat of my own drum through education and finally graduated from Southwest Open School (SWOS). I am easily recognized by my almost three year endeavor, volunteering at Hope’s Kitchen. I have had a few jobs here and there and now I am here. I could not be happier! I volunteer because it is a passion and a hobby. I currently volunteer (behind the scenes mostly) at the Methodist Thrift shop, when I am not working on the Teen Maze. I tend to stay fairly busy, and am quite content with my on-the-go life. I am happy to embark on this journey and I hope you’ll come along!
I started my term on January 20, 2014; I have a lot of catching up to do because Teen Maze 2014 will be held April 17-18. It is now February and I am still trying to wrap my head around this wonderful opportunity. Luckily, I have a great support system behind me and I am starting to get my head in the game. Speaking of game, the Teen Maze requires a lot of work! So much time, energy, and effort is put into this life-size game board that helps teens discover healthy ways to do what teens do best; BE TEENS!
